The AT520CTK ATI520CTK Portable Cable Pull Tester Kit is used in conjunction with the AT520D and AT520J Cable Swagers. It has been designed as a portable unit to enable Field Service Groups, Aircraft Manufacturers, and Repair Depots to test swaged terminals. The AT520CT Pull Tester is a self-contained hydraulic unit in which the tensile load applied to the cable and terminal assembly is produced by developing pressure in a hydraulic cylinder. The pressure in the cylinder is related to the pounds of tension applied to the terminal and cable assembly and is indicated by a direct reading pressure gauge calibrated in pounds of tension. The face of the gage is graduated and characterized by cable size and respective 60% related tensile strength. This terminal tester has the capacity to pull test all sizes and types of terminals which the AT520J or AT520D Swagers can swage. During testing, the cable is held between two soft copper blocks designed to avoid damage to the cable. The operation of this unit is simple and no experience or training is required to effectively test swaged terminals. The basic unit weighs 25 pounds and is 5 34/” wide, 10 1/4″ high, and 23 1/8″ long. It is light and small enough to be carried by one man. This compact size adds to its versatility and allows proof loading of swaged terminals after the cable has been installed.
