The MX-3227( )/G (M55074/4) is a hermaphroditic, hermetically sealed 26-pair contact insert assembly for use in the U-185( )/G, U-186( )/G and U-187( )/G (M55074 series) connector assemblies. The MX-3227( )/G features 26 pairs of fixed contacts that are internally parallel wired to corresponding solder tabs on the rear. The hermaphroditic layout of the contact assembly allows the connector assemblies and related cable assemblies to be interconnected regardless of connector/cable orientation.

The intended use of these connectors is for military telephone communication systems using 26-pair cable, telephone WM-130( )/G.
