Description

The OFS FiberWire family of HCS 200 µm fibers, cables and components is compatible with this termination system. Vertical integration takes the OFS FiberWire V-System from fiber through cabling and connectorization while providing strength, durability and ease of use and termination. The OFS Crimp and Cleave termination system provides many advantages over 62.5 µm cable in both cost and ease of handling. The large-core 200 µm step index fiber couples approximately 10 times more power from a typical LED than does a 62.5 µm graded index fiber. This allows the use of less expensive optical devices, resulting in substantial system cost savings.
